Color

Everyday, all I used to see was red.

It would come in many forms, and occupy many spaces.

I would see red skies. Red people. Red water. Red arms.

Everything around me, all of it was red.

I'll admit; it took a while for me to get used to it.

The blinding crimson of which coated everything and anything.

And I thought it would never change.

At least, until I met you.

You were not red.

In fact, you were various colors. Colors I've never seen, yet somehow could name.

Blue, purple, orange, yellow, green.

And many, many more.

You did not act red, either.

But rather, when you were blue, you would cry.

When you were yellow, you were happy.

When you were purple, you'd ask me lots of questions.

And when you were green, you'd always drag me outside.

It was odd. Foreign.

Yet I couldn't help but be excited to see what colors you'd turn into the next day.

And before I knew it..

Everything around me was no longer just red.

There would be black! Or white.

Or mixtures, like pink.

Or shades, like light blue.

Nothing was mundane, anymore.

Nothing was the same, anymore.

And I discovered my favorite colors, amidst the fray.

I am quite a fan of the rainbow.
