Chronicles of Time: A Poet's Journey Through the Ages

In the stillness of the night,

I gaze upon the stars so bright,

And wonder what it would be like,

To journey through time with all my might.

To travel back to days of yore,

To see the sights we've seen before,

To walk the streets of ancient Rome,

And marvel at the Colosseum's dome.

To witness battles fierce and bold,

And tales of bravery untold,

To meet the heroes of olden days,

And learn the secrets of their ways.

To see the future, yet unknown,

And marvel at the wonders shown,

To glimpse the world that lies ahead,

And all the marvels that it's bred.

But time travel is a tricky thing,

And not without its fearsome sting,

For meddling in the past or future,

Could cause a paradox, a rupture.

So I'll content myself for now,

With the wonders of the present's bow,

And dream of what could yet unfold,

When time and space are ours to hold.
