For the blue haiku, my inspiration was O'Henry's "Gift of The Magi."
Writer's notes. His gift to her was an album. He envisioned the record being played on her blue and gold player. Using the money to purchase a gift for him, she kept the sale of her record player a secret. Their secrets were revealed on Christmas morning.
Christmas Blues - A quote remembered from my college Humanities class, and is the title of a Kenny Neal record, "Blues Ain't Nothing But A Good Man Feeling Bad."
