A never ending cycle

When you said don’t worry we will make it. I honestly believed you. I’m a sucker for love and I wanted so bad for it be true.
You talked about forever and I bought into every word.
But when the pressure was on you folded and choose to walk away.
You didn’t want to be with me and that’s okay. Because you sparked something inside me that inspired me to persevere and maybe that’s why we crossed paths.
If the choice is to love you or myself. I choose me.

So close to forever
So close We were so close. Or at least that’s how it felt for me. So close to forever. So close to making it. It almost hurts more that I still love you. I gave you my heart and trusted you with my world, but as life would have it, you had different plans. Your wants slowly changed and I stopped being one of the things you cared about. We went from us to you and I. Your plans no longer included me in them. The future you spoke of went up in smoke. There yesterday, gone today. I tried to grasp it but it vanished right before my eyes. Reality sets in.
