Personalities uncommon

As uniqueness goes

A father contemplates

TEN children they have

And a dog and a cat

Minerva, the mother, Jalen, the dad

Their firstborn is quiet, loves to read

Never hears when mother calls, nose absorbed in

Books of science and exploration

The second child is hyperactive, loud

Always on the run, fun loving and wild

Loves the outdoors and mischief

Child number three, loves mother earth

Always studying, contemplating, watching

As storms blow, nature roars and stars align

Number four, is the engineer or architect

Pulls everything apart,

Tries to put them back together again

Bur for now, like Humpty Dumpty,

They do not fit back so well, hopefully later they will

Five will the Nurse or Doctor be,

Always soothing a hurt, or bandaging a tree

Tends to injury on everyone or thing. The dog, a chair

Brother, sister or leaping after a frog outdoors

Number six is a conundrum, Dreamer, head in the clouds

A poet, a playwright or an actor to be, otherwise

Fascinated by cadavers and what goes on inside

Ah yes! Seven, Bossy as can be. Smaller than most

Yet leader of the lot...at least in her head

Already planning on running her own company

Child eight is the ne'er do well, never listens

Never does what is told, never, never ...never

A handful that one ever is...poor Minerva

Always leaves him to father for discipline

Yet nine is ever sublime. Helpful in the kitchen

Loves to cook, bake and tinker in everything foodlike

Number ten, though still a baby, shows a stubborn streak

Nine lends a hand a lot with the baby, Minerva ever thankful

Point and moral of the story

You waited long enough!

Matters not how many little people you create

Every single one will be unique

There is only ever only one of us

Eight Billion more or less created

By CHUTTERSNAP on Unsplash

Yet each one pure and completely unique

Ever ponder the numerical possibility of such a thing

Ever wonder when the Eternal Architect

Will have perfected his final mold

When the last of us will have been made

And we will be no more!

Love them while you still can!

What a beautiful piece of work about family dynamic and being a parent! I love that in such a small space, you were about to create 12 completely unique characters!! Such fabulous work. I am not a parent but this really spoke to me. Reminding me how important it is to work on characterization in my story telling. Specifically the lines "Matters not how many little people you create Every single one will be unique" So heartfelt and amazing!
