Chasing Memories In The Wind

Chasing memories again

Chasing memories in the wind

chasing memories again

I can taste them on my lips

I can feel them on my skin

leaving traces of your touch

across the midnight wind

Like falling grains of sand

finer than a tear

each holds a tattered memory

that whispers in my ear

“Did you say you miss me?

Did I feel your warm embrace”?

I think I even saw the outline

vaguely of your face

Your voice hangs in the air

like wind chimes in the night

floating by in my dreams

cascading in the moonlight

But then they all rushed past me

digging in my skin

like broken pieces of glass

and pierced my heart within

Chasing memories in the wind…

again

heartbreak
