"CATALINA BOARDWALK ROMANCE"

"THE PINK BLUSH HOTEL STUDIO LOVE"

META

This is fictional prose. The characters and story are fictional, and were created by the author's eclectic brain of fairytales blended with real life of places, people, and other stuff. The Pink Blush Hotel and The Dream Factory Studios are fictional properties. Any reflection to real characters is coincidental.

Once upon a time in the land of California in LA,

there were two people living in the city.

Neither of them knew each other in LA.

So, I will tell you a story of a man and a woman,

who met on Catalina Island one day,

on a per chance meeting of souls.

The day was sunny and bright,

and an island atmosphere of light.

The two drank a glass of wine on the pier,

not knowing what was to happen next,

in their world of dreams,

as it seems.

They laughed.

They talked for awhile.

Then the lady had to leave,

as she was there with other friends

from LA

on that day.

The dude, Billy called her the next Monday,

To see if they could meet in Hollywood,

where he worked at The Dream Factory in that hood,

Betty Lou accepted his invite,

with excitement of a new job,

and it was a site,

of much creativity of life.

Betty Lou was a freelance makeup artist,

and was to apply

for a position with Billy.

So, that was a good day for Betty Lou.

Betty Lou sighed,

as she walked into the eclectic studio

located on Sunset Boulevard

in the hood of Hollywood.

They met again, hugged and spoke

of her experience in the industry,

of fairytales and make-believe life

of romance, love, and anime'.

She was hired that day,

in the Hollywood way.

Billy told her she was so pretty

with her long black hair,

and her sweet way,

of talent and seemed to care

in a laid-back way.

The two of them decided to

make love on the sofa as they kissed,

and laughed away the day.

So, at nightfall they made love,

so furiously in a hot love affair

of ten years

of creativity, love, and tears.

They left the studio that night

to be out of sight,

but they stopped in a bar for a drink,

to dance the night away that night,

while they drank wine and tequila.

So, yeah they spent the night,

at The Pink Blush Hotel on

Venice Beach.

In The Pink Blush Hotel as the dreams sway to the beat

of the Stone's song, "Let's Spend the Night Together"

played.

The beach, the ocean air, the waves, the wet sand all that,

was to be the beginning of a long love affair,

not knowing in ten years

it would end abruptly of violence

from Billy vs Betty Lou.

They traveled all over California from

San Diego to the San Francisco Bay.

Rhyme and reason working through not

to rhyme for April 2ooo was not

a happy day for Betty Lou,

as she was bruised in a way

of her asking over and over, why

did this happen?

She moved on sadly as the tears flowed

down her cheeks.

The world looked bleak,

but she survived the courts,

of sorts.

The story ends here,

because she had to go

to live alone,

but not for long

as she needed company

of a creative guy

despite

her heartache of the day,

when the romance of ten years

was no longer there.

She was okay

as she sat on Santa Monica Beach

another day

in the way

of another Hollywood love,

as she thanked God above.

Another day,

another week,

another year

to love, dance, and sway

to the palm trees and waves

as she sighed that day,

breathing the salty air

of the breeze of the waves.

THE END

The lack of soul or substance in this poem of sorts

is what was left of a ten-year love affair of sorts.

Ten years passed quickly.

As time passed within a moment that felt like one day.

Betty Lou is happy today

as an old lady

of sorts.

She smiles at the dream of yesterday.

Just another day

in the Hollywood way

as the palm trees sway this way today.
