Carving Your Likeness

- Etching Your Essence

By Dawnxisoul393artPublished 16 days ago 1 min read

Carve your face in my mind,

Etch each line, each curve,

Each subtle shine,

I'll preserve this image,

Keep it safe and sound,

I bury the red heat,

My heart has found;

——

I don't need your words,

Your lips to part,

I only ask that you see me,

See my heart,

Let my shadow cross your path,

Dance in your sight,

May it ignite a spark,

A glimmer of light;

——

This heat, this fire,

Burns deep within,

Consuming my thoughts,

My very being,

I long for your eyes to meet mine,

Even in passing,

To feel that connection,

That moment everlasting;

——

I'll carve your face,

Commit it to memory,

A portrait of perfection,

A work of artistry,

When darkness falls,

I'm alone once more,

I'll gaze upon this image,

My heart it will restore;

——

Perhaps one day,

Our shadows will intertwine,

In that moment,

Our souls will align,

Until then,

I'll keep this image close to my heart,

Waiting, hoping,

For the day we'll never part.

    Fabulous descriptions- souls intertwine, keeping the image. Nice job!💕

  • Happy to be the 1st commenter on this. While I was on your poem's first couple of lines, I remembered a poem I have written on Vocal. I think your one is more advanced than mine. Well done!
