Bumps During Train Rides
Haiku string

mental hunger pangs
train hustles by in the night
regret bites with fangs
~
yellow pages fall
with frantic black scribbled notes
envelopes rest, tall
~
sore hand attempts, tries
to write a worthy letter
eyes, water and cries
~
little, I have, true
but all I give to you now
take what you dare to
~
around house, I search
for a costly thing to give
paper-words, they perch
~
once I met a Prince
a pauper, I was, twopence
at Princess, I winced
~
to my sheer surprise
she gave me a big bright gift
her affection prize
~
I rose, feeling worth
she chose my stained glass being
love, she has unearthed
~
she saw a new Prince
even when I could not see
she knew it all since
~
regret did not win
she flowed in on that quick train
she made my head spin
