Bukowski was Right
What is the meaning of life?
The meaning of life is
laughing at the pain. Not
just a small laugh,
or a secret giggle.
.
I am talking belly laugh
with fingers pointed at the trauma.
.
Chortling and spitting up phlegm
laughing so hard
you wet yourself
and don't even care.
.
in front of that girl,
you know the one.
.
The one with the beautiful blond hair,
where you are busted
playing out that Carpe Diem
moment,
.
where you stroke her locks
that go on forever
and her boyfriend
punches you in the face.
.
That's the meaning of life.
Laughing at the pain
.
in your jaw
and the embarassment
of social hubris
and a bit too much drinking
of Narcissism's cup.
.
Then humility, and then of course,
more laughing.
