The awakening

In darkness I found myself crawling on my knees

Fighting it off like a deadly disease

Clawing and scratching I tried to break free

In the distance a voice of light called out to me

Britannia! Britannia! Please wake from your sleep!

You’re falling! You’re falling! You’re going too deep!

Wake now my child or forever be lost

To make it back home you must resurface from the frost

The sound of his call pierced me like an arrow

I remembered who I was and took flight like a sparrow

I’m not home yet but I’m on my way

Thanks to the voice who called out to me that day
