Breaking the Chains of Toxic Love

A chance for love to be reengineered

A toxic love, a painful past,

A relationship that couldn't last,

The love that burned with fiery zeal,

Slowly, surely, lost its appeal.

The words that were once sweet and kind,

Now cut like daggers, leaving scars behind,

The love that was once pure and true,

Now felt like poison, seeping through.

But then a glimmer of hope appeared,

A chance for love to be reengineered,

A moment to heal the wounds of the past,

And start anew, with love that would last.

It wasn't easy, it took hard work,

To mend the love that had once gone berserk,

To let go of the hurt and the pain,

And start again, with a love that remained.

It took time, and patience, and trust,

But slowly, surely, the love was reborn,

And though the past still lingered on,

Their love had grown, and had become strong.

Now they look back on those toxic days,

With grateful hearts and thankful ways,

For it was through the struggle and the pain,

That their love was reborn, and it finally did sustain.
