When we talk about family we usually mean blood,
People who look after your needs like families should.
A shoulder to lean on if you could,
Which in the end makes one feel good.
These people will always make you feel respected,
Look after you when others have you rejected,
Never ignore you and leave you neglected,
So you never walk away dejected.
But not all families give you a fresh start,
Many people are abused and torn apart,
Forced to leave family behind with a heavy heart,
Pain sears the soul like a flying dart.
Sometimes leaving a toxic home gives new hope,
For the first while it is hard and most mope.
Fear fills the heart but eventually happiness will elope.
Making it easier to live and cope.
