Bless These Hands, American Damned

Pray they get to nurture dreams, made technicolor by sacred sleep

Bless these hands, American damned

Dipped in blood and dried with sand

Blue-black veins from wrist to finger

This flag it lingers, this curse, this cancer.

**

Bless these hands, American damned

Breaking hammer with sharp sickle

No rest for the weary, grabbing shovels

To bury the falsehoods of this land.

**

Bless these hands, American damned

Forsaking the hood and sweet nepenthe

For the promise of chariots in the sky

They sacrifice life for a fucked Most High.

**

Bless these hands, American damned

Pray they rest before they're dead

Pray they get to nurture dreams

Made technicolor by sacred sleep.
