Between Door and Tile
....a watchful eye
Between the door and the tile,
Lies a gap, a space for a while,
Peering down, I can't help but smile,
As I ponder on its unique style.
A hidden world beneath our feet,
Where dust and dirt seem to meet,
But beauty can still find itself a seat,
As a forgotten penny reflects a small feat.
Perhaps a spider finds its home,
And quietly weaves a silken dome,
Or a beetle traverses all alone,
Leaving tracks where it had roamed.
The gap may seem small and bland,
But to me, it's a wonderland,
A place where the unknown does expand,
And daydreams come to take a stand.
So pay attention as you walk by,
And give that gap a watchful eye,
You never know what may catch your "why,"
Between the door and the tile of your nearby.
