She wore that smile like a loaded gun
That girl was 90 proof
The taste of her lips
Danced on your tongue
But you held her in a noose
You ripped her heart out
Root and stem
Recreating all her lines
Any part that she held dear
Erased and redefined
Now she don’t give a shit
If you like the color that she bleeds
She’s learned to like the taste of it
Underneath she transplants seeds
Wears it as a banner
The trophy proves, she never quit
Now, she don’t have a lot
What you see is what you get
What she has is hers
She guards it like it fort Knox
Treasuring the years
The ones that brought her back again
The ones that made her strong
Turns out it’s all she waited for
She’s right where she belongs

SO powerful and I absolutely love it!
"If you like the color that she bleeds She’s learned to like the taste of it" These were my favourite lines. Loved your poem!
