Betrayed by friend, torn family

Betrayed by friend

In shadows deep, a tale untold,

Of bonds once strong, now tarnished gold,

A friend who entered, like a silent storm,

And shattered ties, left hearts forlorn.

In tranquil days, when laughter flowed,

When love and trust in harmony glowed,

A friend, they thought, brought warmth and cheer,

But little did they know, he'd sow seeds of fear.

He wore a mask of charm and grace,

Yet hid a darkness, a hidden face,

With silver words and deceitful art,

He tore their unity apart.

Innocence lost, and trust betrayed,

A family's strength began to fade,

As secrets whispered, lies unfurled,

He undermined the fabric of their world.

He smiled and dined, their trust he stole,

Like a serpent's kiss, he played his role,

With wicked whispers and cunning guile,

He watched as they slowly reconciled.

A chasm grew, 'twixt kin and kin,

As the friend's malevolence seeped within,

Each word and deed, a poison dart,

Piercing deep into every heart.

He stoked the fires of jealousy,

Fueled the flames of enmity,

Innocent hearts, now turned to stone,

In his wake, the family, overthrown.

In battles fought, in harsh despair,

They once were close, now they didn't care,

Their unity, a distant memory,

Innocence lost to treachery.

The friend who came to be their guest,

Now a curse, an unwelcome pest,

A lesson learned, a bitter price,

For trust misplaced, a family's demise.

But from the ashes, a glimmer of hope,

A chance to mend, to learn and cope,

For in the darkness, lessons reside,

To rebuild and heal, to no longer hide.

The friend who destroyed the family's grace,

Their unity now in a broken place,

May they find strength to rise above,

And rekindle the bonds of family, with love.

I presently think positively. Railing and censuring just destroy. Confirmed speculation develops. I currently take a gander at the daily routine that I experience and confirm, "It is Great." I love and favor the Ideal Power inside me

The workings of family life and relationships in general.

Sweet… and, too often, true. Very nicely done. Evil may indeed hide behind a sweet smile.

Always looking for that glimmer of hope in troubled relationships. Good poem.
