Balance

A love poem, of sorts

Forces in equal

Opposition and support

To love and be loved

For who I am

What I am

A years-long search

Smashing myself up

Against other bodies

Other souls

Pieces incongruent

Close matches but for

A corner here

An edge there

Until it all fits

Or at least fortitude

Weathered down

Persistence a trickle

A redefining of

Happiness and want

That makes this no less

But also not more

No fairytale lie

This entangling of lives

Creating that balance

Of loving and being loved.
