“Baby Girl Blue”

Oh how young then, and innocent was she; blonde hair with blue ribbons, adorned in silky braids..

She dared not to notice the color of his skin, as it touched hers in the ways that red touches sin..

Tears soaked on her pillow, her gray blue eyes filled with fear; hold on a little longer, she whispers from within..

Baby Girl Blue.. It’s not you, it’s him...

A playhouse made of plywood, within its walls she sat to think; as blue and purple hues reflected from the moon shapes at her feet..

Red city lights dance in water puddles by sidewalk curves; like the painful memories swimming in her mind as the taxi car swerves..

Baby Girl Blue.. Lost in her unsaid words..

Golden rays of sunlight cast their glow upon her face; leaving her with warmth to feel Gods comforting embrace..

Baby Girl Blue.. Filled with strength and grace..

She dared not cast her glances to the shadows at her back, for the stars within the night sky were her chance to leave at last..

Rising up from the ashes of her story burned like pages over a yellow flame; Baby Girl Blue.. She’ll never be the same.
