Tropical plant

Hi all, thanks for coming to read some more of my poems. I have been experimenting with an ancient Japanese form of poetry - the haiku. They must be written to strict rules. They are are 3 lines long, and have a 5-7-5 syllable structure. They are often about nature.

It is autumn here in Brisbane and after living in Canberra for a long time, I find autumn very odd here - there are no leaves on the ground. In Canberra the streets are full of deciduous trees, in all of their red, orange and yellow glory. Versus Brisbane, where you are hard placed to find a deciduous tree and there are tropical plants blooming everywhere. I grew to really enjoy autumn in Canberra and I kind of miss them but these haiku are my tribute to autumn in Brisbane. I hope you enjoy them.
