Original Poem

“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.”

- Aristotle

***

Emily kept drawers in poems,

Never a coin did Van Gogh take,

Tales of Soul an Artist’s Life is,

Giving True Meaning to the rest.

For We, Living Free in the Underground

Breathe Art, keep demons at bay,

Close to name the things no others name.

World, keep your ways of foolish flashes,

Tonight, I’ll die here with Human Art,

With a Heart to not brag nor entertain,

To a Song, to Wine, to an affair,

Writing Poetry as an elegant suicide,

You will never understand.
