Arsonist of Love

Burning our house down

You ignited something in me

Warm feelings of love and care

The embers glow and keep my soul alight

But then you leave and I fan the flames

My bellows pump out of control

The embers burn, the wallpaper catches

And before I know it the curtains are on fire

I try and stamp out what I've started

Trying to salvage the house we built

But everything is in tatters now

Singed edges and smoke wafting

You return and see what I've done

How can I possibly turn that small, warm glow

Into such destruction?

I'm an arsonist of love

Don't build your home here

Don't trust me with your keys

Don't believe me when I say I'll change

I'll throw the match that starts the flames

With the fuel in my mind

And the doubt in my heart

I'm an arsonist of love
