An investigation would definitely be required

One of the five dessert plates was missing

and after a careful survey of the house,

she determined it was not about.

The likely suspect and scenario was

her husband, for he had past offenses.

Probably in an attempt to be helpful, he

may have accidentally thrown the plate out

while clearing the table the other night.

Unfortunately, the garbage had been picked

up that morning.

Another suspect, her teenage daughter

who had recently become quite love-struck and

thus distracted by the new boy from across the

street.

The investigation would be ongoing...

when the missing plate was found underneath the

the refrigerator.

The culprit, Sparks the family dog, had most likely

licked the plate under the fridge.

Sparks, no doubt had an accomplice.

She suspected her husband, for he had in the past

let Sparks lick his dessert plate clean.
