AN IDEAL WORLD

...

Yes, they say only the strongest will survive,

But I didn't mind sacrificing myself in the name of you,

I wanted to fall because I trusted that you’d pick me back up,

My energy reflects your energy,

It resembles a spring tide,

Aligned like the eclipse,

Your precisely placed kisses on my imperfections,

Was what kept me warm through the coldest nights,

Maybe in an ideal world, we’d stay together,

Maybe in an ideal world, we’d put our differences aside and appreciate our similarities,

Maybe in an ideal world, we’d stay in our own little world,

Maybe in an ideal world, you’d know that I was the one.
