I wanna paint myself into your picture

navigate your narrative

lavishly consume you like fine liquor

negotiate to be the subject of

the thoughts that keep your body tingling

the dreams you dream when you can't sleep

I wanna be that song you can't stop singing

the fruit you never dared to eat

I need to know that aching hunger

long to lean into your kiss

to be the spell that you fall under

the reasons you fail to resist

the past that keeps you hanging on

the memory that hides behind your smile

the shooting star you wish upon

the past you visit for awhile

so come on back, boy

it's only time that's slipped away

listen to that voice, boy

and name the game you wanna play

the world keeps on spinnin'

before you know the moments passed

I see you grinnin'

what would you say boy, if I asked?
