A Poem for Departed Non-Believers

Adieu -

The world, embrace thy love and grace,

Let brothers and sisters free.

In pain we mourn the lost but borne with time for you and me.

Once we depart, our body gone, we shed into the sea.

Forever one with planet earth, our bones you'll never see.

From speck to man to speck again, simple animal are we.

We're dust and sand, just home again to feed the grass and trees.

Akin to all the life within, my earth is my god you see.

I leave this place, not with infamy, but hope and memories.

To this, I say don't be dismayed, we all will meet her too.

My home, my love, my family, my friends, to you I bid adieu.
