Acceptance
Things will be what they’re meant to be.
Why is letting go so difficult? Why is change so difficult? Why is everything that we need to do to make ourselves better so difficult? There are a whole lot of why’s and not enough answers. Sometimes we believe we want answers but in reality, we’re not ready for them or dont even know what to do with that information. Things will always be difficult because we make them that way. Sometimes it’s inevitable and we can’t control our situation, we can however control how we react to it. The more in control we try to become over a situation, the more energy is being consumed not allowing one to see the full picture. When one is blinded by our thoughts, emotions, and a presumption of how things “should” be, theirs not much room for growth.
Acceptance can be difficult because in some cases may be seen as weak, giving up, or failing. Acceptance however is a sign of strength, hope, and resilience. When one accepts the fact that there's not much that can be done on the part of the self. What else is there to fight? Why go through unnecessary agony? Maybe because that’s the last piece of the puzzle that completes us and makes us whole again. We fight because we have hope, we give our powerlessness over to a power greater than ourselves and become free of that burden. That’s why we fight! Unnecessary agony or necessary lesson? Agony is a feeling of discomfort and hurt, agony makes us feel worthless. Great pain leads to much greater HEALING. Ask me “who I am?”. I’ll answer and tell you about the steps I took; that road that molded a child of God into the person standing in front of you today”.
Can I accept the fact that I am ME? Today with certainty I can answer that question with a resounding “YES!”. Acceptance is a process that involves many emotions, the main one being LOVE. Acceptance has led me down a path of self-forgiveness. As I forgave myself, joy and happiness filled the void of pain and misery. Today I have the blessing to be understanding and compassionate under the most intense pressure that man can produce. Out of intense pressure, a new diamond is created. When cut and polished with very powerful tools, that diamond has tremendous value because it’s been through hell and back. The product of that great undertaking is a fighter that got knocked down with no chance of ever striking back; that same fighter rising and knocking down its evil opponent that haunted his every second. The diamond represents beauty in its purest form, it reflects a tremendous amount of light to anyone that comes near it. That diamond is as strong as any other element in the world. Acceptance is letting go and surrendering, asking God to lead the way, and having faith that no matter the destination, it’s exactly where I’m meant to be. I’m grateful for the road I have taken because that diamond is me. Within that diamond, my heart is set to front and center, confident that no matter what comes its way, evil will be fought off and a new perspective allowed in to fight off its next opponent.
