A Rhyming Poem of Abuse and Divorce my Mother Endured.

My Parents In the 70’s.

Down the cheeks they fall - tears of disconnection.

Finally letting it all out because of retroflection.

Watery eyes wide open to realize the disaffection.

Hit with an emotional erection, from constant pain suppression.

Praying for an opportunistic eye infection. Maybe it will blind your visual perception of your reflection in the mirror of now facing your clinical depression.

Demanding change and speaking up with an emotional expression.

It ends up being invalidated, not cared for, with a black eye and complete deflection.

He was supposed to provide you with love and protection, but instead you received no affection and emotional rejection.

When you open up his face shows the a non-caring expression, he only knows to react with the hand of aggression.

Narcissism shows his emotional intelligence is in a visible regression.

His infidelity and commitment to the relationship was always in question.

That’s enough! You matter! It’s your time to take action. Stand tall, You’re strong - no more circumspection!

Goodbye excuses, no more sadness and self-deception.

You are worthy, and your kindness is worth a noted mention.

Focusing on your happiness is now your new obsession.

You are your biggest commitment, self love is the important lesson.

NO ONE is is worthy enough if they don’t recognize you are perfection.

So I’m proud to see your dating ad online instead of the obituary section.
