A will written to the trees

Litter my skin with moss

My bones can be substituted with twigs,

I do not need them anymore

I want to be fragile

I want to lay intertwined with the forest floor

Calm and breakable

Fill my veins with saltwater

Cleanse and purify me from the inside out

the soil will sink under my weight

welcoming and warm, I feel her kiss on my flattened palms

I watch tiny creatures walking the valleys of my finger prints

Making home under my nail beds

I do not mind

let the animals pick off my long discarded outside

It always belonged to them

And please,

Please for the love of god do not shelter me from the rain

She is a comfort

Washing away earthly sins

Drowning out the too much noise of the world

I only hear her and god she is so quiet

So nice to listen to

She talks so softly in my ear

I want nothing more than to lay myself down in these woods and sleep

Only opening my eyes to gaze at the lofty

Liken covered trees

My will is written to these trees

Spoken from lips buried in dirt

I have never felt held like this

Clung to like this

Needed like this

I am desperate for this place like it is desperate for me

A solemn, authentic way to tell a story in a search for peace in a crowded world, a world that is without direction and space.

A poignant piece, written from the ground up from your being, always a good place to start and inhabit for a view for the world.

I've always wondered how the trees see us! Your piece puts me a step closer to that understanding. Well done!
