A terrible dispute.

She walked through the commotion,

The sound and constant cries,

Push and shove, detect with adrenaline,

The spread of constant lies.

Rumors amidst the townsfolk,

The spread of constant fears,

Groanings from the depths of the spirit,

The shedding of anxious tears,

“He’s dead! He’s dead!

He was found at the rushing stream,

No bride would come to claim,

No covenant to redeem!”

“He was found with something unfamiliar,

That was wrapped around his neck!”

She saw a golden necklace, a heart on the chain,

Something to surely check.

The agony of such loss,

The terror yet to find,

Who would have the nerve,

Or have this terrible plot in mind?
