A Sunshine Visit

In the night

Do you carry the dawn

on shoulders hurting from each song,

the memories you hold

dear and painful

loving, frozen

they make, unmake your soul

each time day comes,

it takes hold

of your heart.

What if night has a way

to bind

precious each velvet touch

healing souls in dark drops

of sunshine

and moonlight?

***

Go with the light

in blue songs, yellow,

hope waits on branches of tomorrow

it can come early

or wait

until morning.

Would you receive a blessing

in the dark,

or can you only see the butterflies

when meadow flows in sunrays

and each smile

makes friends with sun, no foe,

no moon,

frowns left and burden

crossed twilight?

***

Is sun your guide

or can you love warmth

in dark smile?

Shadows don't melt away your love,

sun passing in the night

won't tear apart spirit,

add blight

to burden growing with each step

rest, eyes wide shut,

sun lives

to tell the day

of love.

***

When lights go out

soul candles stay on fire

each glow,

each heart,

each morning

in blackness unfold

in song, mountains

apart.

***

A way to bind memories,

happy place,

path to what rests behind,

loving eternal light,

mirror shows sun

dancing on moonbeams,

resurrection,

one step away, one breath

how can you count joy

in a smile?

***

Laugh when sun visits

in the night

it may be the last time

rain comes with no clouds,

happy tears

flower on cheeks,

you're not forgotten

and abandoned.

***

Sun knows you in the dark

so does home wait your step,

see bliss

moving in rivers

floating on endless stream

of happy thoughts.
