A Suitcase of Stories

She has been writing stories in her head her whole life,

It started when she was little,

Few words spoken, everything observed,

She had different toys,

Sectioned off in suitcases,

Every bag unzipped with creative potential,

Different characters to various storylines,

They were her connection to human connections,

You could say she had a dramatic flair,

Tragedies written with toy cars,

Rocks outside her house used as a set,

lost toys and limbs were written into the storyline,

She had her favorites,

Her main characters to every episode,

She acted out experiencing love and first kisses,

Going on dates to being the bride,

She brought one of her bags of storylines on every trip,

They were her escape,

From feeling like she never fit in this place,

She appeared as shy, but was singing loud in her head,

She felt alive within the stories she created,

To this day,

She has kept the bag of stories stored away,

Holding on to create more life for maybe her kids one day,

But to the girl who would sit on her bathroom floor for hours,

getting lost in a world created from the stories in her head,

Her mind still wonders,

It may have been clouded by the realities of life,

Been heartbroken in real time,

But her mind is always searching to find,

The character within the fallen leaf,

the coin that will bring two unlikely people to meet,

She still sees the characters in inanimate objects,

And the hope and love written in each project,

She invests into people for the brightest and darkest days,

finds a place to be observant in a world so loud, in a different way,

She misses how simple the stories were zipped up in a suitcase,

She misses that feeling of knowing her escape,

But she has never stopped writing storylines from her heart,

She has grown into who she is,

But that little girl with a suitcase full of stories is never too far.
