A Season of New Beginnings

QVV's May Spring Poetry Challenge

By James U. RizziPublished about a month ago 1 min read

The stale air of winter cracks under humid pressure, the warm wind carries words left unsaid.

Annotations of new beginnings and gracious fortitude come to salt the gentle breeze as it brings with it tidings of the solstice.

What harshness lay on sacred ground, cries under tender sun.

Trees spring forth a new area of unwritten chapters carved with abundant roses dusted with fine-drawn pink.

Downpours wash away the lawless pain.

It takes with it the regrets and shame.

Take comfort because nothing grows without rain.

Subtle heat tempers prickled skin filling hollowed bones. As the decrepit ache thaws I set my eyes to the setting sun

Waste no more bitter tears because spring has sprung
