A RUBY Flame She Is…

In the realm of memories,

a flame burns bright,

a loyal companion,

now out of sight.

Her name, like a gemstone,

gleaming in a quiet fame,

this precious soul

we knew as Ruby's name.

With shiny ember eyes,

a spirit ablaze,

Ruby ignited our hearts

in countless ways.

Her presence is a cherished gift

that warmed and warms our soul

filling our lives with love's eternal role.

Through fields and forests,

she would joyfully roam,

Her paws dancing on paths

she called her own.

A furry ball of energy and grace,

Leaving footprints in time…

at her own pace.

A guardian, a friend forever true,

Ruby's love and loyalty is ever anew.

Through ups and downs,

she stood by Emily’s side,

her unwavering devotion

like an endless tide.

With every wag of her tail,

a tale of joy was told

of unspoken words and

stories untold.

Her boundless spirit,

forever aflame

in our hearts.

A RUBY Flame She is.

Now she dances among the stars above,

A celestial flame, a beacon of love.

Though she's physically gone,

her spirit forever glows…

A Ruby flame,

in our hearts it flows.

In the tapestry of memories

she'll remain. A radiant light

that will never wane.

A Ruby flame she is…forever bright,

Guiding us through the darkest night.

Rest in peace, dear Ruby, forever free,

Your love and light, our eternal decree.

In our hearts, you'll forever shine.

I was blessed to have met Ruby when Emily and I had lunch and a quiet stroll in Vallarta this past winter. I was touched by Ruby’s loving presence within minutes of being around her and I have followed Emily’s FB posts in these past eight months sharing the many facets of personal grief as she courageously embraced her furry companion’s end of life journey. Today I read Emily’s post and tribute to Ruby… and tears came witnessing the miracle of this soul companionship that teaches us the pure essence of unconditional love.
