A riddle of a constant exchange.

A resource, of extraordinary quality and versatility.

By Jordan ZunigaPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

Seeds scattered, swords to throw,

Mind battered, blood to flow,

Sought out more so than silver each day,

Valued more than gold at the price of what they say,

Inspired fire, coldest winters chill,

Loving desire, the willingness to kill,

Joy flows from the heart, while false promises cause it to mourn,

The encouragement from another’s counsel, to the rage of an enemies scorn,

Wisdom guides its usage more than the grip of sharpened steel,

Knowledge obtained from another of how they truly feel,

Thrown about senselessly like a fool, but the wise learn restraint, eventually,

What then is this abundant or scarce resource,

What then, I ask, could I be?
