A Poet's Heart Emanating
The simple breezes of a life well lived.
Joy
Wisdom
Love
Music
Uplifting
Breathing
Poetry
Master writing
From his soul
Emanating
Reaching into yours
Captivating
Calling you to be
A force to be reckoned
A voice to be heard
Amid the endless noise
Compassionate creating
Spread a unique message
One that only you can tell
That lives beyond its creator
Re-created new each day
In the hearts of those who listen
Who will linger with it a moment
And come again to understand
In meekness and most innocent love
We can hear the music flow to Heaven
Its notes aglow with jazz and rhythm
Here lie the secrets of the multiverse
For all eternity to muse and breathe in
The simple breezes of a life well lived.
At this point in the writing of this poem, I would tag Michael Hall, and thank him once again for creating this Syllabic Form| the Culminating 30.
Often he would be the very first to respond, with gratitude and joy and encouragement. He once remarked that I wrote more pieces with his form than he had, and he was so happy about that. He was present to us always.
This piece was purposely written using many of his motifs and images as well as his form, in tribute to a great person, an amazing poet. His absence will be a great loss to me, to all of us who share poetry with him.
He left us at 3:14 am the morning after Christmas, succumbing to COVID.
The Christmas painting by my good friend, Moh’d Bilbeisi, seems to so properly fit Michael’s effort in this world to pour out his heart in his poetry. (Thank you, Moh’d).
Please take a minute with me and read one of Michael’s last poems:
