A poem is the way we believe, gently at first, then growing stronger, a grand crescendo to the release of the imagination.

A poem is late nights and swirling thoughts mixed together in a cacophony of tumbling emotions that jumble in our heads.

A poem is a vision of the past, present, and future all rolled into one that keeps the heavy heart afloat in a stormy, sea sick soul.

A poem is the pain and the anger of righteous minds and betrayed believers, fighting for the disowned and despairing generations.

A poem is the music that guides our lives, letting us see through the darkness and discover ourselves, showing us beauty and love.

A poem is the voice of the misunderstood and the truth of the world laid out for those too blinded by a false security to see it.

A poem is the gentle whisper of a mother to her child, the hopes and dreams she has for a better life, the life she knows that they deserve.

A poem is heartache, courage, wisdom, fear, love, despair, hatred, hope, and truth.

A poem is a message.

If only we could read.
