A Passerby's Glimpse

Beauty is her name

Your love roars quietly behind questioning eyes

Saying everything your lips resolve to keep inside

I look away from such power, but I still feel it’s touch

Not sure this door is mine to walk through

Not wanting to claim another’s house.

Beauty is her name, and her dance is subtlety

Reserved in nature it seems she’s not one easy to smile

Yet her heart is warm and gentle

She’s a lover through and through

And her eyes say all her lips could not

But were those eyes meant for me?

With the language that they speak.

Or was it a passerby’s glimpse of

A fellow searching lover?
