I wish.

I wish and wished .

Nothing worked.

One fine day, I had wished again.

So much that the' Tree of Life' got tired of me repeating my wishes and closed its doors.

I had wondered if my wishes would ever come alive or not?

A maybe was all I could utter at that time.

Well, my conscience didn’t know. That was the only thing certain that I could put my bets on — the Uncertainty.

Even the fate gods didn’t know. So, how could I? As I am only human!

I had covered a huge distance from my village to the Tree of life.

To my ill fate, nothing happened.

I walked again on the same path. To find my answers to my questions.

Thinking back, I was cursing my luck and God and everyone out there. My only wish was — To wings so I could fly high in the sky! After walking uphill I got tired and sat on a rock.

The little mouse who was watching said — oh, you don’t deserve that rock, deary!

Baffled at the sound of the voice, I turned my head to my side from where the voice was coming , To my surprise, my eyes fell on a tiny mouse who was standing tall with his head held high on a rock beside me.

What? Why don’t I deserve to sit on a rock?

Yes, deary, you don’t yet deserve the rock — said the mouse.

Who are you to tell me that?

I am the voice of the tree of life. And I have come to you to tell you that you have a long path ahead of you. And you can’t sit here now on the rock. The rock that you see on your path was once a person. Those who only wished and got tired just like you became a rock. A rock here is an indication of the end of your journey as a human. This is a journey back to life. Those who sit on a rock in the middle of their journey will forever be termed called the dead. Those who are aware of themselves will be deemed fit to continue their journey.

Hearing this — He hurriedly backed away from the place where he was sitting. And stood on his feet.

Now, deary, tell me are you aware of yourself?

Yes, I am — said the uncertain voice.

No, the child you are not — said the mouse.

You don’t know yourself and you’re unaware of your abilities. Most of the travellers here are on this journey to know themselves. You too are, deary! The tree of life doesn’t possess the ability to make your wishes alive. It’s you, and always you who possess the ability.

Is that so? I didn’t know I have the power— said the gleeful voice.

Yes, deary. The tree of life is thriving because you’re putting in the work. And those who do work take away the energy of the tree of life.

This is the valley of belief. Those who believe in themselves come back to life as human beings. See, deary, that why you are still human. Complete the path child to get your wings—said the mouse and disappeared.

I completed my journey again with my newfound wings.

Back home with my wings — hope & belief.

I wish.

I wish and wished .

And it worked.

Fin.
