A Morning Hike
Finding Stillness in Nature

I stand over the clear quartz stone I buried 6 days ago.
The sun hasn't peaked over the horizon just yet, but the light from its near emergence casts shades of orange and pink amongst the clouds that linger.
The air is frigid, but warmth surges through my body from making my way up the hills.
The light breeze rocks the tops of the trees and rustles the leaves from seasons past.
The few birds that are awake sing to one another, echoing off of the trees around me.
These moments remind me of the simplicity in life, making me feel whole and alive within.
