A Metre of Love

Metre of Love

Not grand cathedrals, nor endless, starry skies,

But a metre of space, where our love quietly thrives.

A single square yard, a world we've built for two,

Where whispers speak volumes, and hearts forever renew.

One metre, the distance between a hand and a hand,

A bridge of affection, a promise we understand.

Fingertips brush, a spark ignites within,

A silent conversation, a journey to begin.

One metre, the space between a smile and a tear,

Empathy shared, a burden we both can bear.

A comforting silence, a hand on a trembling arm,

A solace unspoken, weathering life's coming storm.

One metre, the space between two gazes locked,

A universe reflected, a story silently unlocked.

Eyes that speak without words, a language all their own,

A tapestry of emotions, on a love-lit throne.

One metre, the distance between a whispered goodnight,

A promise to linger, bathed in moon's soft light.

Foreheads touch gently, a last breath shared and warm,

Dreams intertwined, safe from the outside storm.

One metre, the space between furrowed brows in thought,

A shared understanding, a battle silently fought.

Compromises made, a willingness to bend,

Love that endures hardship, a bond that won't end.

One metre, the space for a sudden, playful embrace,

Laughter erupts, a joyful, fleeting chase.

Spins and twirls, a whirlwind of giddy delight,

Two souls intertwined, bathed in golden sunlight.

One metre, the space between a shared cup of tea,

Steam rising in tendrils, a haven meant to be.

Stories unfold, secrets whispered low and deep,

Two souls connected, promises silently kept.

One metre, the distance between forgiveness offered,

A bridge rebuilt, a love stronger, un-coffered.

Apologies whispered, a burden lifted at last,

Love that endures trials, a bond built to last.

One metre, the space for a simple "thank you,"

Gratitude expressed, a love that sees you through.

For laughter and comfort, for strength and for grace,

A love that cherishes, a love that finds its place.

One metre, the space for a final, loving goodbye,

A tear falls gently, a silent, choked-back cry.

A life shared, a memory forever etched in time,

Love that transcends endings, a melody still in rhyme.

Though the world stretches vast, with oceans and endless skies,

Our love thrives in this space, where our essence never dies.

One metre, a universe, a sanctuary we've made,

A love story whispered, a promise unafraid.
