Kyle

The ones before us

The ones before us give us food oxygen

Help heal our wounds physically mentally spiritually

Clarity serenity metaphorically metamorphosis intellectually intelligence conscious awareness

Is the genesis a hypothesis?

Some say they know what the answer is

But denial is dangerous and cancerous

They play tricks in the matrix

Like they poured me a pint claiming it a fifth you lying cause I don’t feel the drunkenness

They insist our ancestors were primitive when indigenous show what sustainable is

In the name of God said our ways were devilish

Now they coming in waves searching what the answer is.

More conscious awareness I repeat these words for you to check this

Hmmm how do i put it….

So somewhere they said man was dominant.

That we were top of the living species pyramid.

That man made thought process

Like a man-made law to an ordinance

Like meta verses

That type of thinking makes the earth worthless

Like how taxes pose to help people but still short on funds for services

On the stage in this life dedicated to plant life and the fungi

Conscious elevated don’t label it a ‘high’.

Avatar real plants and trees feel

Rocks and water hold memory

Where is all this information coming from

Is it that I’m remembering?

Ones before us give us food for thought air to breathe.

Call me weird but I talk or think to the trees

The mediate to meditate and to relate all refreshing in the wilderness.

Give respect to the ones before us.

Either in human plant dirt or rock form.

We bringing that interconnected back to what’s norm.

To the food for thought don’t gmo the corn

The ones before us in a conscious wave was to be born.

During these trying times.

Thank you for keeping us grounded.

Holding the earth as we purify.

Detoxify if it was a religion, I found it.

The hotter it gets the harder we pray.

Also, to keep in mind nothing done in a hurtful way.

We see some of you be fake.

The ones before us that still here thank you for your knowledge and wisdom.

Then elders' voices play in my head when I have a hard time in my addiction.

The crowd did not clap after Kyle spoke his poem because he said, “please do not clap after I say this poem. I want it to resonate and vibrate a frequency to remain after like food for thought. I mean I want you to take in these words and have it entered your being. To give one's full attention and to allow what you hear to stick within you as a lesson in life.” He grabbed the mic.

Kyle, after he spoke his poem, he quietly walked off the stage and a pure silence allowed him to take in what he spoke. Henry shook his hand as he passed him by.

Cole jumped up out of his chair when Kyle approached the other poets. Cole went up to Kyle and put his arm around him. “Hey guys, this my friend, Kyle Kyle Kyle.” Cole turned his head as he was saying Kyle and tried to act like his name was echoing. Some of the other poets smiled when he did it because Cole told them before Kyle came what he was going to say and why. But Cole said after he said that so Kyle would know, “Hey remember that show Home, the kid movie? Remember when Ovs said ‘come to my party my friend Kyle will be there and it echos Kyle Kyle Kyle.” “Oh yeah I remember that movie my niece loves that movie,” Jasmine said as she laughed.

(Before Kyles poem: flashback to after Keith performed his poem.)

“Wow. Thank you, Keith. For you business owners that are here please take notes.” Henry said as Kyle approached him. “We do support small businesses and also support employees getting more money, flexible hours, all that.” Said Henry. Henry then looked over at Kyle. “Our next poet Kyle.” Henry said and gave him the mic.

Flash-forward: Henry introducing Tony.

“Welcome Tony.” Henry said. Henry gave him the mic. Tony walked up to the edge of the stage. Looked around the rook slowly and then started speaking, “this one is called, “‘First betrayal, second karma.’”

Always attempted to show a good heart/

Every word I meant it that part/

Did my best to not wish anybody bad/

If I control my emotions how can someone make me mad/

Always attempted to show a good heart/

Every word I mean it that part/

Did my best to not wish anybody bad/

If I control my emotions how can someone make me mad/

Unless they done real real bad to someone I love like my child/

Most would agree especially a parent someone mess with ours we going wild/

Uncle always said protect the fam that style/

It isn’t the enemy that gets the best of me/

It’s the one that shakes my hand acts a friend of me/

Pretends to be there for you/

But when you done good toward others/

Those others usually will blow their cover/

Caught in a lie so they stutter/

Karma get em now that bitch from the gutter/

Got you where it hurt the most/

It not my fault the way they chose/

I think it must be the recognition of the real/

Cause when we chop it up, they catch that feel/

It not my fault they wishing you was me/

But damn I know you feel bodied/

You pose to be there main so why she callin me/

She is telling me how you fakin G Stalin me if could set me up for free/

It not my fault its karma full screen/

And usually those who attempt disloyalty/

Those that captured their heart show the choice to be/

Doesn’t mean they are giving it up I got mines/

But they protectin because they see affection and what is kind/

a mind that gives understanding/

In you lames they aren’t finding/

Always attempted to show a good heart/

Every word I meant it that part/

Did my best to not wish anybody bad/

If I control my emotions how can someone make me mad/

Always attempted to show a good heart/

Every word I mean it that part/

Did my best to not wish anybody bad/

If I control my emotions how can someone make me mad/

It was never my intent/

Just the way the cards were dealt/

It was never her intent/

Just an overwhelming feeling that was felt/

Maybe because promise was kept/

All she wanted was someone to hear her out/

Allow her to be herself/

The amount of time given is what counts/

I do my best not to come between but she wants me to talk to you but know you get mad if you knew she was talking to me/

And it nothing like you think/

She just thinks if I talk to you, it makes some sense to some degree/

But that jealousy envy I already sensed it without the one holding your heart your being together/

I got to admit she like a heaven sent a real-life eagle feather/

Would have never known the low-key hate/

She made a choice, and she knew what was real so based that off the choice she would make/

Always attempted to show a good heart/

Every word I meant it that part/

Did my best to not wish anybody bad/

If I control my emotions how can someone make me mad/

Always attempted to show a good heart/

Every word I mean it that part/

Did my best to not wish anybody bad/

If I control my emotions how can someone make me mad/

Protected by these angels/

Human form deflecting betrayal/

As I steer the sailboat they watching the sails/

They must see something within, so they don’t want it to fail/

Maybe they tired of the pretend/

Seldom come across real friends/

Nothing Sexual just want to see you win/

To the lames who can’t comprehend/

A platonic relation/

Some of you aren’t relatin/

A definition of hatin/

A better way I’m creatin/

They watchin helpin takin/

The time to craft the creation/

Speaking godly the convo not Satan/

How you opp me energy you drainin/

Yeah, first betrayal second karma/

“Alright, good job good job. Yeah, always remember at the end of every situation you have the ultimate choice. To hate or congratulate. Next up we have Cole.” Henry said.

Cole strolled up to the mic. Straight face.

Blood Quantum

Genocide

Believe the lies

Suicide the hatred of life

Boarding schools unmarked grave sites

Boarding schools unmarked grave sites

I said genocide

Believe the lies suicide the hatred for life you hear them cries

Boarding schools unmarked grave site

Believe the lies!

Brain wash em play them like fools with that blood quantum

I said brain wash em play them like fools with that blood quantum!

Their way of life rob em allow them to rob themselves/

Make em rich make them egotistic/

Make them forget have them create their own hells/ create their own hells

Erase their history keep them in poverty/ erase their history keep them in poverty

The disparity misery loves company/

Cause a victim mentality envy jealousy/

The power is plenary its policy acting like its sovereignty/

The divide and conquer bad medicine skin walkers/

I see greed all over your face helping with the genocide with blood quantum helping erase own citizens/

What happened to making America turtle island native again/ make America turtle island native again/ we older than those concepts native and America/

Is it, we afraid to be terminated by a stroke of a pen/

In the boarding schools is where it begins/

The only other species need blood quantum is dogs and cows/

Playing politics going against the traditions oh you are making your ancestors proud/ (uses sarcastic tone)

Most turn a blind eye to the systems that are keeping us down/

Corruption sorry here I am interruptin/

Could not just say nothin/

You see I’m human and I have to stand for something/

This for my loved ones affected by blood quantum/

We spot em we got em were taught em/ the youth lead the way/ stay away from the curse it’s craved/ infested with greed based their wealth how much money they make/ generational curses they not wanting to break/ those disenrolled, we pray I know your heart ache/ I know your heart worth a pot of gold/ and we know your spirits can never be sold/

“Thank you for listening.” Cole said and walked off the stage. The crowd clapped. Henry was waiting on the bottom of the steps. He gave Cole a hug and said good work bro. Then Henry stepped up onto the stage.

“Wow, bringing that realness. Unapologetic.” Said Henry. “Next up we have Annie. Please. Welcome.” Henry started clapping and the crowd followed him in clapping for her.

Annie walked up to the mic. She grabbed it and Henry walked out the stage. “Thank you.” Annie said. She allowed it to grow quiet.

Family Pain

Sometimes I wish I could turn the back the hands of time/

I learned how to turn the emotions off so it look like I’m doing fine/ (she fake smiles)

No one knows the battles I faced to make the changes in my life/

I hear them doubters and haters as clear as day/

They act like they know me and remember me as the same nothings changed/

Yeah I now know it could have all been unnecessary/

But that burst of energy erupts hard when emotions are buried/

The habits re cycling to the youth they are carried/

But the choice is within us if that cycle is worth breaking/

If i regretted any of it I might not be that person I am today/

Doesn’t mean I’m not sorry for the hurt I’m human learning from mistakes/

And that the whole point based off decisions we make/

Think about the time we have on earth, so no time is a waste/

Before you say think before you do once it put out to the universe it can’t be erased/

See these quotes hold so true and set the pace/

As I pass through this entanglement through time and space/

Im walking back and forth so the steps can be retraced/

Contemplate/ like chess anticipate/ nevertheless, keep the beam on always relate so we don’t miss the lesson/

Trying to replace that family pain with family love/

Whatever it may be give it to the powers that be and get back strength practice and become capable of/

Moving it away from you and the ones around you/

Be the blessings to those for them that pray for you/

Let’s us forgive and live our lives the best we can show love show respect.

One love.

The crowd clapped for Annie’s performance.
