A Full Moon Arising
Pulling at your deepest darkest emotions
As I lay here listening to my music
I’m thinking about my day today,
Nothing special, some ups and downs
But nothing important to convey.
***
I’m just biding my time waiting
Until I can meet up with you soon,
Looking forward to this weekend
To watch the rise of the full moon.
***
Our mode of transport will be a ferry
Across the wild seas in the open bay,
A tiny deserted island to ourselves
For a glorious week, returning Friday.
***
Our accommodation is a lighthouse
Which is no longer in commission,
Each level holds so much history
The structure in pristine condition.
***
Oh what a magical sight at the top
A stunning full moon slowly rising,
The entire view takes my breath away
Both calming and totally tantalising.
***
If you can pull your gaze from the moon
You’ll notice the foggy mist hiding the ocean,
Like smoke drifting out over the water
Pulling at all your deepest darkest emotion.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
