A Child's Silent Tears

Poetry

Silent tears fall from a child’s face

they dream of love

from a faraway place.

Where mothers love their children

with all their heart

where families aren’t torn apart.

Where fathers’ hands are calm and gentle

never making their small limbs tremble.

Where their cries are not lost to the dark

And their skin is without a mark

Somewhere they haven’t always felt alone

With a heart as heavy as stone

They may not cry loud with tears

Stifled by their fervent fears.

look close and maybe you will see

that child’s silent tears

Were once me.

About the Creator

Stranna Pearsa

A long time ago I discovered the beauty and magic of the written word. The escape it provided when I was trapped was invaluable to me. It is my goal to provide that gift as it had been bestowed upon me so many times by so many others.
