Chains Of Love

Poetry

I feel your heartbeat in my ear

I feel your strength as you pull me near

Your touch is so gentle,

Wild and untamed

One night with you

I’ve never been the same

You tell me you need me

you say you still to love me

but the time is not right

when what you really mean

is I’m not worth the fight

One day I’ll break free

These chains will rust off

When the time comes

I’ll leave with a scoff

I’ll forget you and this pain

this emotional drain

Till then here I’ll stay

Hopelessly waiting for your love one day

About the Creator

Stranna Pearsa

A long time ago I discovered the beauty and magic of the written word. The escape it provided when I was trapped was invaluable to me. It is my goal to provide that gift as it had been bestowed upon me so many times by so many others.
