A Chance at Happiness

To you, it's a moment frozen in time,

a memory that shall never be.

Although the words were only kind,

the pain is all you see.

It doesn't seem like there'll be another chance,

as time goes by it seems to fade.

Your heart seems to hold on,

but your mind wants to let it go.

It seemed to be a chance of a lifetime,

but now it feels like such a dream.

Could it have been so right,

or was it just a game we played?

There were so many hidden feelings,

how were we to know it could be so real.

We took a chance at romance,

it started with just one dance.

We took a chance at loneliness,

it started with our last kiss.

Now shall we take a chance at happiness,

and let it start all over again?
