A Broken Heart in Hibernation

This Winter Blue...

If only I could get you to see what I see.

To open your heart enough to feel what I feel.

To know that despite the shadows your cast over my heart,

the love within shines brighter

than any darkness could ever entrap in its reach.

The endless tears I cry

I refuse to drown in.

Instead will nourish my soul

and swim upstream in its wild waters

until you decide Ive suffered enough,

Jump in

and encapsule me in your arms.

Like a bubble downstream,

floating toward the ebb and flow of the sea,

Toward the horizon dancing with the sun and the moon

to music only our hearts can hear.

If only this dream could become yours

to become reality.

If only dreams like that could come true.

If only love rang true enough for you,

To melt my heart out of this winter blue.

Until then I’ll hibernate deep under ice and snow,

while you frolic in a world shiny and new.

Just waiting for you to miss me

and rescue me from this nightmare,

this winter blue.
