Rescue Me
I grew up in a small town. I mean, really small. Our population usually hovered somewhere around five hundred, but it didn't count the many of us that lived outside the city limits. We lived in what most people there called "the middle of nowhere." Our house was separated from the main highway by a large field and a long gravel drive. That drive is where my story begins.

We Rescued Her
This is going to be difficult for me to write, with probably some tears shed along the way. Why? Because I just said goodbye to my furbaby rescue daughter four days ago ( as of writing) on December 15th, 2021. The house feels too empty and the grief is too . But, sharing this memory will help, and I hope will be cathartic. That or traumatizing, which I know it is for my husband.),

Wolf Spirit
I think there is a thing to be said about how little we humans know about animals. For one, their mysteriousness has lead us to believe all sorts of assumptions about them that really don't make sense. For example, the assumption that because animals do not speak the same languages or use their mouths a certain way, then they must not be smart enough to understand us in turn. In reality, what we need to realize is that animals are probably smarter than us in a lot of ways. I've tried numerous times to communicate this throughout my life.
