Dogs and cats can improve the health and mood of their owners. A dog or a cat relieves stress and gives a sense of peace, responsibility, and fulfillment.

It is the opinion of many pet owners. But they know and feel the beneficial effects that an animal has on its owners. For example, the dog and the cat, when they enter a family, represent a reason for association, union, to increase communication between family members.

Also, owning a pet can play an important role in the education and development of the child, in the formation of his personality, in learning some responsibilities. Pet therapy can act on children as an element of emotional and emotional stability.

Researchers have found that people who suffer from strokes and have pets live longer. Also, a study of 100 patients with various heart diseases found that those who had pets had a longer life expectancy than those without animals.

Animal therapy has gained more and more followers in recent years, and specialists encourage people to raise pets because their presence is considered an important factor in reducing stress, moral support to overcome a difficult time.

Thus, the following benefits of a pet have been demonstrated:

1. Specialist studies have shown that those who own animals need less medical care than those who do not have any pets.

2. Caring for an animal gives you the feeling of having a meaning, a purpose of existence, especially in old age. According to the researchers, people who have diminished physical strength are much happier and have much higher self-esteem if they have a puppy in the house.

3. It has also been shown that those who have a pet are much more resistant to life's problems, goes to the doctor more often, and live anchored in reality precisely because they have to take care of someone who relies on them. Finally, it is known that cat owners and puppies suffering from various diseases have much greater healing power.

4. Other studies have shown that stress levels are lower in people who have a pet compared to those who do not.

5. Blood pressure is lower when people interact with animals, which have the property of improving their mood.

6. According to American researchers, if you pet your puppy or cat for at least 6 minutes a day or spend a quarter of an hour looking at an aquarium with fish, your blood pressure will be normal, because these activities have the gift of regulating blood circulation.

Moreover, the mere presence of an animal in our home reduces the risk of stroke. One study found that a 70-year-old woman who has had a pet for a long time has a blood pressure similar to that of a young man.

7. Specialists have shown that animals can be a good medicine if their owners suffer from migraines or arthritis.

8. Another particularly important advantage refers to the improvement of social life. In one study, the people involved said that they can integrate much better in groups of friends because they have a pet.

9. A weapon against Alzheimer's. Animals may be fluent in the prevention and treatment of this disease. In addition to the peace and inner harmony it offers its masters, the fact that they must be fed in time stimulates memory and judgment. Brain functions are thus activated moment by moment and, if installed, the disease cannot progress.

10. Animal doctors. If until now researchers used only cats and puppies as study material, now horse therapy has been developed, intended mainly for patients with motor and psychomotor disorders.

It is also an excellent way to establish an indestructible bond between the patient and the therapist. Dolphin therapy is also getting better and better for people with autism. It seems that simply touching the body and skin of these mammals unlocks the brain centres responsible for this disease.

We can consider it as having a pet, whether it is a cat, aquarium fish, dog, parrots, etc. It has many benefits for our physical and mental health. Moreover, the animals help children with ADHD to develop optimally and become more responsible for the rules imposed.
