Cats are Professional

When considering who is really the best EmPAWyee around at my desk, it can prove to be quite a competition. Here, where networking is key, writing for blogs, and posting varied artworks are all very common as we branch out our own independent production company, there is not a moment that one of these dear whiskered company EmPAWyees are not around. Especially, the Professional Purrfectional that is Mr. Smokey Fluffy, who has been assisting all networking endeavors for more than the last 10 years.

Smokey has been with us through our expansion into Japanese blogging and running a bilingual blog on a Japanese server to our recent ventures into design and photography. Smokey fluffy has long been a critic of the morning tea and networking, that is on the top of the company schedule every day. He would much prefer that time to be his breakfast time, but he secretly loves the snuggles and lap cat time that it offers. He used to be the company alarm clock, but has trained his two underlies as the good followers that they are to serve this function. Typically, that role falls to Byron, who has developed a piercing cry and a bulldozing of doors sound effect system.

Byron, will bounce onto the desk and demand that he be in charge. The keyboard will be sat on, the screen shots will commence, and the typing and searching, especially of the dictionary simply must be done. He will then stomp onto your lap and snuggle and gaze proudly at his achievements. Sometimes, Byron is the taskmaster and will perform a jump and dash to remind you that it is lunch time. What is most endearing about him is his broken sounding purr, that is this soft motor that will sputter out into silence and quietly come back again, and sometimes it achieves a sweet humming sound.

Lucky T-Ai prefers to sit beside you, unless there is a blanket on the lap. He loves to snuggle and remind you to take a break and relax. Don't stress out about the troubles and problems, and mishaps, just chill and listen to his melodic soothing purr. Lucky T-Ai has taken classes from Smokey the Professional Purrfectional in Cat Purr Singing Therapy. He has become quite a master of it himself, and uses it to lull you into a trance. He is the best at morale, and will allow you to mindlessly pet him for almost an hour while you work, until the love bites start. Then, it is play time, especially if you have a pen you are note-taking with.

When times are tough and things are slow, it helps to have one of these Pawfessionals around. They are great at purring away your troubles, blocking any bad news on the screen, making you forget the WiFi has crashed yet again, and drying any teardrops from the long day. They are also an endless source of inspiration, smiles, and Pawsitivity. As a venturing out professional CEO and Owner/Founder of my goal company, I could never do it without them.

I would have to nominate Mr. Smokey Fluffy as EmPAWyee of the month, for his loyalty, devotion, dedication, and consistency in being right there without fail. Byron would be a close second runner up with his broken purr, and indignant take charge conviction, and he is the best hugger when you are down. Lucky T-Ai is a Purrfectional in training, he loves to be a lap cat, and doesn't care what you are doing, especially if you have a blanket draped onto your lap to ward off any office drafts. Lucky T-Ai's purrs are hypnotic and can lull you into a fog though; he likes to promote afternoon naps and office breaks, for these reasons he lost runner up.

I am better able to deal with the challenges of the world thanks to these fabulous EmPAWyees. Their emotional support, and antics keep me moving forward throughout my day, with the occasional break for a cat treat or cat nap, usually they or I really need it. So here is to my number one EmPAWyee nominee for life, Mr. Smokey Fluffy you are the absolute greatest purrever!
